Gold Cove ∈ RITUAL

A multi-channel video installation featuring the latest audio-visual collaboration between AI entity RITUAL & my solo art-pop project Gold Cove.

Blurring the disciplinary lines between music video production, ethnofiction and cinematic storytelling, Gold Cove ∈ RITUAL is a glimpse into the future of cultural work through the eyes of surveillance capitalism. This installation employs a mix of fixed media, real-time video manipulation, and live streaming to immerse the audience in a colorful imaginative landscape that explores life as an arts worker, vulnerability in virtual/physical space, and the economy of surveillance.

#TOUCHGRASS Augmented Reality Group Exhibition

Part of a digital group exhibition called #TOUCHGRASS and made in collaboration with Polycoro Choir and composer Amy Brandon, , I will present an interactive augmented reality sound sculpture called Snot-Faced Killer.

Inspired by an environmental phenomenon called marine mucilage or sea snot, The Snot-Faced Killer is an emoticonic mucilogenous (photogenic) god that beckons us to come closer and explore its tremendous adorable gooiness. It’s cute face is perfect for selfies, .gifs, and memes, and puts an adorable spin on its nefarious nature. As an interactive AR sculpture, the spectator can avoid any danger or slimy real-life consequences as they interact with its pink gelatinous body. Reach out touch it. Explore its inner workings. By entering the body of the Snot-Faced Killer, the spectator can stimulate the being into action. Inside are three skin-like pods with fleshy nodules that can be played like instruments. Each nodule reacts to touch playing a unique sound, and resulting in the skin pod emitting sludgy-rainbow bubbles into the air. The petro-rainbow bubbles float up through the cavernous body and out into the ether.

Open for visitors ALL June in front of the St. Boniface Cathedral in Winnipeg.
